Kiyomizu Temple opens its gates at 6am, and an early morning visit is the best way to fully experience the true, peaceful atmosphere of this sacred place. Hear the flowing waters of Otowa Falls and catch the birdsong that can only be heard before Kyoto's most popular destination starts another day.

Located in the heart of Higashiyama's five hills, Saka Hotel is a 5-minute walk from both Gojozaka Bus Stop and Kiyomizu Temple.It's also just a 12-minute taxi ride from JR Kyoto Station. Guests can easily walk to many major tourist attractions, including the Yasaka Pagoda of Hokanji Temple, Yasaka Shrine in Gion, Sanjusangendo, and the Kyoto National Museum.
